Bad News is now Good News!!

So I have blogged before about how excited I was to start selling my scented wedding bubble favors. Well what you didn't know was that for a while my most popular items was unavailable from my supplier. That's the bad news. I have lost a few order because of my inability to find any anywhere. Well I am happy to announce, Good News, that they are back. My Champagne Glass Wedding Bubble favors can be purchased again. I received a catalog this afternoon from my supplier and there they were. Turns out they removed them in order to get ready for their wedding season. Phew!!! What a relief. Here's a link to what they look like.

I have been receiving excellent feedback on the champagne glass wedding favors. I completed an order a few weeks ago and have since had numerous inquires about them. I think what is so appealing is the fact that I personally, yes me, shrink wrap each glass to prevent leakage. It's tedious but I love making sure my product arrives in tip top shape. It's Sunday afternoon. The baby is sleep. My husband and I finally have a few moments where it is just us. How do we spend it? Going through the Sunday paper looking for coupons and sales and me blogging on line while I watch the move the Replacements. It's amazing how life changes when you have child and how peace and quiet is worth more than anything.

It's been so long since I've done this I don't even know where to begin. So I just sold one of my favorite items in my shop. Scented Wedding Favor Bubbles. I know that sounds corny but it really is one of my favorite items. I was so happy with the end product. I love the fact that I can make the bubbles match any flower scent that the bride might have. I think its really cool that someone bought them too.

So Queen Pea is right I have had a whole of going on. My little boy had surgery a few weeks ago to put tubes in both of his ears. Went for his checkup today and all is well. I can't believe the last post I actually made was during Christmas. Where does all the time go? So I'm here. Creating, pulling my hair out and managing my life as a working mom. Nothing new. Let me know what you all have been up to.

ok guys, it's me. queen pea. dropping in to say hello. BDC has had a lot going on. her baby has been sick :( heading in tomorrow for a procedure that will hopefully help him feel much better. not too serious, i'll let her tell you though.

here in our little nook, the weather's been a real pill. freezing conditions for three days or so. then real tropic around 60 at night 75 at day. now it's been getting about 35 at night and 65 near mid afternoon. everyone's been sick.

so maybe BDC will get back with you soon. i want to hear about her tahitian gardenia. yummy!! anyone try it? let me know what you think.

So I've realized how easy it is to get carried away with tons of ideas when you deal with bath and body products. Some things work and other don't but I have found so much fun in just trying to make my ideas reality whether they work or not. So in 2010 I will be adding lots of new things to my Etsy store sections. I will have section for wedding favors, baby showers, and everyday party items. I have learned that the possibilities are unlimited when it comes to bath and boy products. I will still have my lotions, shower gels and the like but I will be kicking up my site with a little flair. I hope you come along and enjoy the ride.

You know that is a great title. Even I don't know. I have been taking care of my son who developed pneumonia and a double ear infection. Yeah I know, kill me know. Other than the fact that he has been heavily medicated and stuck in doors for a week and a half now, he is doing a lot better. Did I mention he was one? Yeah. So one of the medicines makes him extremely, and I do mean extremely, hyper. So much so that I think he could fuel the space shuttle to the moon and back. On top of all of this loveliness, my husband has the flu, my NEW USED car had a radiator and thermostat explode ($1,500.00 to fix), haven't made 3 payments yet, and now we need to trade it in. So that is where I have been?! Whew. So what about everyone else? Need to vent? I did!

sitting and staring

everyone is so busy these days. being a stay at home mom, i . . . well, stay home. most days it's nice. just the baby and i. sitting at home. staring at each other. then she starts screaming and all i can do is sit there and stare at her. staying at home is wearing me out!! i need to do something! get out and enjoy the cooler weather.
but the baby is sick.
and so we sit.
and stare.
and scream.

we go to the grocery store about twice a week and she is so good on those trips. but i am so tired lately.. i'd rather sit and stare. i'm not supposed to feel this run down already am i? -sigh-

she's walking now! so cute. melissa says she walks like an ol' granny. and she does. :o) but she is more content in her own little world now. it's amazing. so i've started to work on a few things around the house. not much.. i'd rather sit and stare.

i guess you have realized by now that BDC has been a little busy. she asked me to come in and check on you guys. just to say hello and see how you are all doing. we are doing great. just so busy and tired! having little ones running around will do that to you.
so i don't know about you guys, but here in the south it is too hot for fall. i am ready for a little sweater weather. this is my second fall here, and i have to tell you, i am starting to miss home a little. just a little. the crisp cool mornings. i think sometimes that i'd like to sit on the porch and drink my coffee, catch up on some reading or conversation with a good friend. but i can't sit out there more than 5 minutes before i'm panting for air! it's already about 80* by 8 am with a humidity no lower than 75. it's too muggy and suffocating. or am i just out of shape? no, it's just hot.
so my baby is 10 months old now. she is sitting on the floor at the glass door looking out at the cat trying to get him. she is so excited i'm afraid she might break the door. so cute.
so while she does that, i may finish laundry and figure out what to do for dinner. the big girls will be home in about two hours. then the real work begins. until next time, click here and have some fun. i've got to go clean.

So I've just put together a list of things for my Fall 09 products. There are so many things that I want to bring to you that its hard to stay focused. So I will be introducing gift baskets with my new fall scents that will include a lotion, bath gel, and your choice of a sugar scrub or salt scrub. I am so excited and cannot wait to put the first one together so that everyone can see it. If you have any scent that you would like I will be doing customized gift baskets as well. So I haven't posted anything in quite a while. I have been so busy here lately. Doing what you may ask? Being a mother! I never in my wildest dreams believed it would be such a challenge creating my line of bath and body products and raising my little one. When I'm not at work, I at work with him. I have so much respect for those of you with more than one child. I don't know how you do it. Yes as you probably can tell this is my first one. Now don't get me wrong I knew it was going to be hard, but no one could have ever convinced me it would be this hard. sunday adventures

alright you guys, well, i've missed you. so here i am! it's me, 'queen pea'. i've been working on this blog for a week now. wow! it's already saturday. it's gone by so fast! i just wanted to share what our last sunday was like. we spent the afternoon with good friends. my girls and i went to visit with bdc and her family. had a blast. the babies followed each other around everywhere. they synchronized naps, that was nice. my two older daughters played guitar hero. they loved it. then bdc got really adventurous. she decided to let my older daughters create their own bath salts. they had so much fun, all three of them. they came up with two beautiful creations. 'allisa's misty meadows' and 'emily's pixie dust'. and of course this whole creating experience led to another great idea. i'll let bdc tell you about that one. of course i wished i had brought my camera. i'll make sure to have it with me next time.

Hello Again!!

So I've been away from a while now. It's amazing how life can take you everywhere and no where at the same time. I've been nursing my son back to health this week. He has had a cold for a month now. I know a month!! And on top of it all he has been teething non-stop for weeks. 3 trying to come in now. So needless to say my bath and body line had been shoved aside for a while. I've been working on my bath fizzies but still can't quite get them how I want so those will becoming soon. I know I keep telling you that but they will I promise. Now I I'm back to work with great news. I have , however, created a new line of bath salts that are designed to be put directly into your bath. They are colored and scented and feel amazing. They all contain lots of Vitamin E for healthy, beautiful skin and feel like soft, smooth silk. I am working on the names of them as we speak and will hopeful have pictures up by tomorrow. My favorite is the Bermuda Breeze Bath Salt. It will be available in 7.75 oz Jars and 16 0z. Jars. Thank you all for being so loyal.

Quality Time

hello to all. it has been a hectic 2 weeks. but i have to tell you my children are loving school and that is always a good thing. so it's just been my baby and me at home. i thought i would be able to get some things done around here. things i have been putting off. but it seems i've been spending most of my time on the floor. which is real hard for me. i have such a need for organization and a need to get things done. but as i sit on the floor with her looking at all the things i think need to be done, it hits me. those things will be there 10 years from now, still needing to be done. and i look at my precious one with the biggest grin on her face as she crawls all over me, knowing i am getting the most important thing done. something i need to remind myself of now and again. for them, it's the times you didn't clean the dishes before story time, or the when the laundry was folded after the movie and not during. so may all the children in the world feel that they are what matters most. because if not for them, then what?

Busy Week

I know its only Wednesday but I have had a busy week. I'm still trying to get the hang of working full-time and taking care of my little one. He hates day care and I hate it too but it is a necessary evil. I've really been concentrating on introducing my line of bath fizzies. I have everything prepared but I have yet to begin. I can tell you that once I launch them you won't be able to keep your hands off them. We're doing some pretty amazing things with ours that are not normally done. Can't wait to show you all.

So I'm in Birmingham doing training from work and I've yet to get used to the hour commute back and forth from work. What makes it even worse is that school starts back here tomorrow. Crazy Week!

So this has been a crazy week for me and my guest blogger. She's been trying to get ready for the new school year and I started back to work and had to put my son in day care for the first time. bdc has been busy 'creating' and so i thought i would check in on you all.

this is a busy time of year. summer is drawing to a close and many are preparing for school. so it is in my house. perhaps in yours as well. my 5 year old we'll name E, is starting kindergarten. all i can say is wow! what happened to my little girl? she has grown up so much just in the last 3 months. she is so excited! 2 more days. so i have tried to impliment a bed time and tried to get her up early and have her get ready . . . it hasn't worked. it's my fault i know. a part of me feels this is the last time she has for a long time to stay up late and sleep in. i know i will regret it come monday, lol. so this weekend we are going to work on it. i'll let you know how we do.

oh, it's friday! it's storming here now. lightning, thunder, rain. a nice hot summer storm. i have an exciting weekend ahead and hope you do as well.

so i don't know who is hot, but it is hot down here in the gulf! i can hardly breathe when i step outside. by now, we are getting a little tired of summer. and our minds start thinking about fall. cooler weather, thicker layers. the fall is a time for me to start baking. i love the way it makes my house smell. you may be wondering why on earth am i talking about fall and baking. well, i'll tell you. my friend here at BDC has informed me that there will be some new and exciting things happening at her 'shop' (http://www.bdcbathandbody.etsy.com/). fall 'flavors'!! and so i have decided to share my thoughts with you. that is why you are here, right? that's what i tell myself anyway. so the flavors she has decided to add to her line for the fall are going to be used for sachets, lotions, shower gels, scrubs and bath fizzies. as i look over this list of 'flavors' my mouth actually begins to water. i envision county fairs, family cook outs, kids in the kitchen with flour all over their faces. when you look over these, what do you think of? sitting with a cup of coffee or hot tea, a little treat, and your favorite book? tell me what about the fall do you enjoy? i'll be listening.

WAKING UP IS HARD TO DO . . .

this is harder than i thought it would be. i love writing but now only three days into it and i'm all out of ideas. what a boring snoring little girl i am.
so my baby sleeps in her crib next to my bed. she wakes up about 3am to eat and i normally feed her in my bed and we both end up falling back to sleep. so at 6:30 she is in my bed and i'm trying to sneak out of bed without waking her. well as soon as i move my arm from underneath her, she starts to stretch. and i'm thinking 'don't wake up don't wake up don't wake up'. so she's stretching, and tooting, and talking all with her eyes closed. i rub her face and she is still and i think she is asleep and i can get away now! wrong. i move and she starts stretching all over again. anyway, to make a long story just a little shorter, for about 15 minutes i'm trying my hardest to keep her asleep so i can get up, and it's not working. so i just get up and walk away. and do you know what she did? she just laid there talking to herself and playing with the pillow and sheet. she was fine! i'm all worried about having my morning to myself for a few minutes, that if i would just get up she would be fine. and now, 2 hours later, she is sleeping. :) i've cleaned a little, done a little laundry, returned some emails and now i'm drinking my coffee and thinking of you all.
i have enjoyed this week so far. and thank you for your comments. it's nice to know that someone out there is 'listening'. just be thankful i didn't get started on one of my rants. cause once i get started, it's hard for me to stop. and it's been one heck of a week.
well, my baby is waking and so i better get going. i may drop a few lines later today, or you may have to wait till tomorrow. hope you all have a beautiful day. a day full of love and happiness.

I Love the Beach

summer is almost over! i cannot believe it! what happened? school starts in a little over a week and we haven't done half of what we planned. sometimes that's the way it goes. i'm trying to get to the beach as much as possible till then. i had a friend come visit from out of state last weekend and we spent everyday at the beach. it's been 10 years since she last saw the ocean. we could not have asked for a more perfect weekend. she is a freelance photographer and she brought her camera (yea). she got some awesome shots of the ocean and my baby. she got a little burnt by day 3, but she says it was all worth it. the sun is an awesome source of energy. it just feels good. too bad it sucks all the moisture from our skin and gives us wrinkles. as children we never really worry about the effects of the sun. but as we get a little older . . . the past couple years i've decided it's time to protect my face. perhaps i should have decided that a long time ago. so now i am 31 and i see what the sun has done to my skin. ...sigh... and with my children, i know i need to teach them good sun protection techniques. bdc has given me some of her 'honey almond biscotti' lotion to try. i have been using it and i love it!! it is very silky smooth. and the scent is so light and delicate and sweet. it makes me feel good after a long day at the beach. i think if i had a man he would even like it. (wink wink) so this next week i will be getting the girls to the beach as much as possible, and lathering them up with sunscreen while i sit and 'worship' the sun. my face covered of course. and when the day is through and the girls are in bed, and i've finally gotten my shower, i will slather on some lotion and wish i had used sunscreen.

oh, what would we do without coffee? it's 8:30 am and my 8 month old just went down for her am nap. i sit here looking at the chaos which is my apartment, and a million things run through my head. things i should be doing, laundry, dishes, vacuuming, mopping, . . . but all i can manage at this moment is to sit here sipping my coffee. if i had a porch, i would even sit outside to drink it. not sure how long that would last though. it's probably already near 90*. not the best coffee drinking weather.
so i painted my baby's toes last night. and it got me thinking how great it is to be a girl. of course she hated being held still, but i know as she gets older, she will love it. i have three girls, and the older ones are 9 and 5. at times they beg me to paint their toes and after about two days i give in just so they'll quit asking. and i'm always glad i do. sitting there with them painting their toes, for those few moments, there's nothing else in the world but them and me. their attention is away from the tv, they aren't thinking about school or the latest argument between them, it's just two girls and their mom, being girls.
well, i bid thee farewell for now. my coffee is finished and so it is time i do something with my day. maybe i'll check my farm in 'yofarm'. or maybe i'd better wash dishes. ;)
now tell me, other than dishes and our monthly visitor, what do you think is great about being a girl? painted toes? rosey cheeks? scented lotions?

TADA!! here it is folks, the moment you've all been waiting for. ME! lol. ok, so maybe you haven't been waiting for me, but here i am. who you ask? guest blogger for bdc bath and body. my name if fawn. nice to meet you. i am a mother of three young beautiful girls. their ages are 9, 5, and 8 months. i am currently a stay at home mother. i moved to the gulf area a year ago to the week. i met the creator of bdc last winter, and we just hit it off. she is a wonderful lady with wonderful ideas. her young one and my youngest are going to be great friends, i can just feel it. :)

so just what does a guest blogger do? i guess we will just figure that out together. bdc and i have different writing styles, and different personalities, but i will try to stay true to her goals. feel free to comment on anything that touches you, moves you, or irrates you. be nice though, i'm sensitive. ;) any questions you may have whether it be about lotion, body scrub, what size shoe i wear, i am here to please. so that being said, i am happy happy happy to be here. let's get started, shall we?

So as you know I completed my first lotion. Today I was with a friend of mine and I had given her a bottle of it to see if she like the way it smelled. Well she liked it. So we were out and about and saw someone we mutually know. She puts on the lotion and gives some to them and says (I love it) " Do you like lotion? Well I have some and its brand new. Put some on and let everybody else smell it too." What would we do without our friends!

So a good friend of mine and her beautiful little girl came over yesterday afternoon. We sat around doing pretty much nothing. It was really nice. It got me thinking about making bath products for kids. My little one has trouble with eczema that he gets from his dad so I have to be really careful with what I clean his clothes in, what perfume I wear or even the type of air freshener I use. It would be nice to create a very mild soap or bath was that was made for babies. Maybe I get started on that one soon.

So it's been a few days since I've posted. Mainly because I'm trying to come up with new items for my shop, partly because I'm working on samples for the OOTB Etsy Team, but really because I was just tired. I've added a new bath sachet, Spearmint. Weird thing is I always called it SpearAmint and not spearmint. It smells great. I wish I would have had it when I was pregnant. So yesterday we introduced 3 new items into our shop on Etsy. For those of you that don't know, Etsy is an online website that allows thousands of creative people to create a shop and post their handmade crafts. Whether it be bath items like we do or jewelry or what have you. As long as its handmade you can sell it. I don't know what we would have done without this website. So we've added a few new items to our shop. We now have Peppermint Tea, Coffee and Fruit Medley Bath Sachets available. Each sachet comes in a reusable drawstring unbleached muslin bag. They weight about 3 oz. each and come in orders of 2. We are running a special right now until July 31, 2009. One of the most challenging this about making bath products is trying to appeal to everyone. Whether male, female, vegan, vegetarian, or the just the typical person. There are so many things that you just can't duplicate for vegans or vegetarians that everyone benefits from. I guess that's why we like the challenge. Everyone should be able to get the products they want in the purest form.

So we've finally done it. We had no idea what to do or how to do it. What am I talking about? Creating a Blog. Now I consider myself somewhat computer literate, but when it comes to blogs, and twitter, facebook and all that jazz. I'm lost. They use to sound like undiscovered insects in Scotland or a new type of fly called a twitter. But finally I can say, here we are. Smack dab in the bloggers world.
